Ficus Benghalensis ‘Audrey’

The Ficus benghalensis ‘Audrey’ has large oval leaves with pale green veins and shares characteristics with both a Ficus elastica and a Ficus lyrata.

Native to India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, they can can grow to over 30m tall with a spread of 200m in their natural habitat and are some of the largest canopy trees in the world. It’s the national tree of India and according to legend is the tree under which the Buddha sat for 49 days to achieve enlightenment.

PRO TIP: The Audrey has a thin latex-like sap which will drip rapidly from the tree when pruning. Protect your hands & surfaces.
